HOW TO READ THE QUR’AN WITH TAJWID? 1. RECALL YOUR AIM EVERY TIME
To learn the Qur’an with tajwid, the very first and basic tip is to always be determined towards your aim. While learning the fundamentals of any new language, an adult mind should be much more concentrated. It requires sheer determination and tolerance. As our beloved Prophet [saws] encourages us in the following hadith:
‘’ The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur’an will be with the honourable and obedient scribes, and he who recites the Qur’an, finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite in the best way possible, will be rewarded double. [Bukhari and Muslim]
Therefore, never be shy; just do your best.
2. DON’T BE SCARED OF INACCURACY
Many of us have this assumption that it is prohibited to recite the Qur’an if we don’t know how to recite it properly. This belief is incorrect as well as a sinful deed as it inhibits us from reading the Qur’an.
3. OVER STRESSING WORDS
Some words need to be over-stressed during tajwid. For such words, the basic tip is to stress the words more at the start. After the stressed sound is produced easily, stop stressing the end of the words.
4. LISTEN TO THE ONLINE QURANIC TAJWID
As a beginner, it’s a very useful technique to listen to the online Qur’an tajwid as much as you can. Listen to Qur’anictajwid whenever it passes through your eyes.
5. PRACTICE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
Do practice it on a daily basis without any counts. It will not only accomplish you but add to your good deeds as well.
6. USE THE QURANIC WORDS IN DAILY LIFE AS WELL
When you have learnt to read the Qur’an with tajwid, try to use them in daily life as well. For example, if you have learned to pronounce ‘’ayin,’’ then never be shy about using it in As- salamu alaykum. Once you learn to pronounce ‘’ha’’, don’t ever forget to use it, Alhamdulillah.
