Obeying Parents

Obeying parents is one of the most important worship in Islam; it’s the worship that Allah mentions after worshipping him. When you read or learn the Quran, you will find that Allah says: “And Allah has decreed not to worship anyone or anything except Him and to do good for the parents (23)” Al-Israa’.

Obeying Parents is your way to Jannah

Children should learn Quran, and be taught how to deal with their parents. Suppose you are not able to send your child to any Islamic center to teach him the Quran, because of distance, bad changes of weather, or money, or you seek a native Arabic speaker teacher to teach him the proper pronunciation of letters. In that case, you can let him learn the Quran online. By learning the Quran, he will know the verses that were revealed by the prophet to guide us to the way to deal with and act toward our parents, and how Allah orders us to do good for them and not to grumble in front of them. Even if the parents are not Muslims or disbelievers, you should do good for them, respect them, and deal with them kindly. You must refine your behavior when dealing with them. You should take care of them when they get older, not scream in front of their faces, and respect them. Obeying them is considered one way that leads you to Jannah. Remember that praying and making dua’ for your parents is a way of obeying them and a way that makes God satisfied with you.
