What is the meaning of Ijazah?
“Ijazaa” “linguistically means “permission”. It’s a certificate for memorizing the Quran correctly or our Quranic knowledge, which is considered by someone who has the authiorty of teaching the quran .
taking Ijaza means that the student has acquired this Quranic or Islamic knowlage, although this requirement came to be relaxed over time.
The Idea of Ijaza is providing the one a chain of authorized transmitters to go back to the original writer often accompanied with texts of our Islamic studies like hadith, Fiqh, and tafsir. The Ijazaa certificate could be in the Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, or Tafsir too .

Quran Ijazah Meaning
Quran Ijaza is an accredited Quran certificate issued by a teacher or a Sheikh already holding the same type of Ijaza. It said that its holder has mastered Quran ijazaa with Tajweed or Quran Memorization Hifz according to the type of Ijaza from the tenth
Obtaining Quran Ijaza means that its holder now has the authority to teach the Quranic knowledge as well as the same authority to others according to certain conditions.
The History of Ijaza :
Since year 100 A.H (700 CE), “Ijazaa” is a license that its holder to make a certain text or subject of knowledge, issued by a higher religious authority (usually an indirect student of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh ). This unbroken chain of certified transmitters gone back to the original writer is called “Sanad”.
A “Sanad” means something that connects one thing to another and its technical meaning means that Muslims who are connected to other Muslims and “Sanads”(Asaneed) were also earned around the same time that Ijazah began being earned because one is usually not taken one without the other one except in certain cases, and anyone granted Ijazah is called a “Mujeez” literally one who has take Ijaza.
It is also important to know that the Scholars decided to give the “Sanad” (a rank of either a “High or a “Low-Sanad” according to certain characteristics. So , Muslims in the Ijaza system don’t just have “Ijaza” and a “Sanad”, but also has either a High or Low-Quality Sanad.

The types of the Quran Ijaza:
there are 2 types of Ijazah in Quran:
1. Ijaza in Quran Recitation with Tajweed:
This type of Ijazah is given to Quran students who can recite the whole Quran with Tajweed perfectly without any mistake in front of an Ijazah certified Sheikh or by Quran Teacher.
So, Ijazah in Quran with Tajweed is divided into 4 subtypes
Frist :Quran Ijazah with only one narration, such as the Ijaza with the narration of Hafs ‘an ‘Asim.
- Ijaza with seven Qira’at of ash-Shatibiyyah.
- Quran Ijazah with 3 Qira’at of Durrat Al-Maa’nia.
- Ijazah with 10 Qira’at of Tayyibat An-Nashr.
2. Ijazah in Quran Memorization or Hifz Quran
This type of Ijazah is gifted to Quran students who memorize the Quran perfectly and can recite it by heart >
